Talent Index: A comprehensive look at STEM degrees, talent migration, and skills in demand

For the fourth year in a row, the Illinois Innovation Index assesses the state’s STEM performance. This report examines both Illinois’ supply (as measured by total STEM graduates and talent migration) and demand (job openings overall and skills in-demand) in STEM and STEM-related fields. In addition to traditional data sets, this year the Illinois Innovation Index partnered with LinkedIn, which provided valuable data on Illinois’ skills gaps and talent migration for its analysis.
